Danielle Jane Chappell
August 23, 1941 - March 11, 2022
Danielle Jane Chappell, 80, took her final flight on Friday March 11, 2022. Born in Sellersville, PA she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Altemus) Harkness. She was a graduate of Pennridge High School, worked for Bell Telephone, Merck Sharp & Dome, briefly at Pebble Beach Lodge before fulfilling a life-long dream to become a flight attendant at the age of 45. She began with TWA in 1986 , then in 1991 began flying for World Airways until 2014 when the company closed, forcing her into retirement. Traveling all over the world was her passion. She helped fly troops into dangerous places during the Gulf War, volunteering for those trips. She proudly stated that “They are risking their lives for us, it’s the least I can do”. She received numerous awards from the government for her dedication. Besides flying, her family was the most important thing in her life. She is survived by her daughter, Lise’ (Eisenlohr) Henkensiefken and son in law, Dave Henkensiefken of Newtown; two grandchildren David Jr, of Newtown and Danielle Jennings of Warminster; two great grandchildren Peyton Henkensiefken and Brody Jennings. She is also survived by her sister Rita Trupp of Reading, several nieces and nephews and preceded in death by her late brothers John Bechtel, Raymond Roberts and Durrell Chappell. Because Danielle adored her cat Angel who was adopted from the BCSPCA, donations can be made in her memory to bcspca.org or mailed to BCSPCA PO Box 277, Lahaska PA, 18931.
