Mary Aurora Stella Chiavaroli February 18, 1924 – February 11, 2022 Hers was a life well lived. Born in Philadelphia, Mary was the daughter of the late Donato and Giovina (Barone) Stella. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 68 years, Thomas Chiavaroli. Survived by Thomas Chiavaroli Jr. (Marsha), Irene Chiavaroli-Johns (Thomas), Anthony Chiavaroli (Connie), Stephen Chiavaroli (Maria), Donna Chiavaroli and Domenic Chiavaroli. Grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren Sister of Nino Stella and the late Rocco Stella, Lena Stella Aurizio, Umberto Stella and Daniel Stella. Survived by in-laws Frank Chiavaroli and Rose Stella. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by the family she loved so much. Growing up she danced, swam competitively, and developed her lifelong talent as an accomplished artist. Mary was a banner woman of her generation. World War II molded her as it did the men surrounding her – her brothers, her friends, and her beloved boyfriend, Thomas. She did not bow to her idleness in their absence. Mary worked where needed, as a welder and a mechanic, corresponded with many serving their country, and comforted families torn apart by tragedy. Her compassion and empathy were honed by these experiences. Throughout the years, corresponding with those she loved brought her much joy.
