Anna Marie McCarthy

June 20, 1941 - January 22, 2022

Anna Marie McCarthy (Miller), loving daughter of Joseph Miller (deceased) and Margaret Miller (Law) (deceased), sister to Joseph Bud Miller (deceased), Raymond Miller and his wife Lynette, wife to James J. McCarthy (deceased) and Mother to Kevin McCarthy, Kelly Ledgerwood (McCarthy), Thomas Ledgerwood, Steven McCarthy and longtime friends Robert (deceased) and Patrica Dampf and Barbara Coady was called to heaven on January 22, 2022. Her loss is felt deeply by her family and her friends. Anna Marie was a shining light in many people’s lives. Her gentle demeanor and phenomenal cooking and baking skills endeared her to many people that graced her table. Something as simple as a rice crispy treat was the best one you ever tasted because she made it. She was a creative woman who gave of her time through the years to help others. Anna Marie and her Pat brought many smiles to the residents of Manor Glenn and Burholme Senior Housing with their beautiful decorations. She instilled in her children that even though we didn’t have a lot, we had each other and to give back, brighten someone’s day. Anna Marie suffered from dementia as did her Mother Margaret, but her children know that although they couldn’t communicate with her in the traditional sense, she was very aware of their presence. Our only solace at this time is that she is reunited in Heaven with her loving Husband Jim and that our faith gives us the strength and strong belief system that we will all be reunited in the end. Anna Marie will be laid to rest with her Husband Jim at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. This will be a private ceremony.
